All fully paid bookings entitle you to a 4 hour (approximately) trip aboard Sea Scan departing from Mevagissey Harbour, Cornwall, on the date specified. Including 1 or 2 guided sea swims supported by In The Wet Stuff coaches and a selection of hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes.
includes refreshments as described. These are provided by Seas the Day charter. You are responsible for advising of any dietary requirements or allergies.
You will be required to complete a Health declaration (PAR Q) and indemnity form prior to your swim.
Fall Back Day, Start Times
The challenge day includes a fall back departure of the next day in case of bad weather or problems of a safety nature. You need to ensure you are available for both days. Open water swimming and the weather/sea state is by its nature unpredictable and your flexibility is required.
The exact nature of the swim and boat routes can be altered at late notice due to safety concerns.
Departure times will be confirmed at least 3 days before the trip. No refunds for missed departures or no shows. You need to ensure you allow enough time to arrive, park and walk to the loading area of Mevagissey Harbour.
Swim Ability Access.
You need to be confident to be able to swim the required distance of up to 2km in open water. Wetsuits are mandatory unless you can prove, prior to departure, to the satisfaction of In The Wet Stuff that you are experienced swimming in cold water without one.
All swimmers to be over 18 years.
If at any time In The Wet Stuff staff/coaches/
lifeguards feel you are incapable of swimming the distance or are becoming unsafe to others or yourself you will be required to leave the water. No refunds will be given in this instance regardless of when this decision is made. If you refuse to leave the water when requested you are placing yourself in a position where your continued swimming is on the basis of a member of the public expressing their free will and accept that In The Wet Stuff are no longer responsible for your safety in any way. In The Wet Stuff will facilitate any exit safely. Wetsuits are mandatory.
The trip is aboard a converted fishing boat. Whilst the boat is licensed for passengers access to below decks (toilet) is down steep crew ladders. Access includes using ladders on a moving but anchored boat. Access at Mevagissey is down frequently used embarkation concrete steps. These can be wet and slippery.
If you are prone to suffer from motion sickness then this may not be the trip for you.
Refund and Cancellation
Bookings are non refundable and non transferable (without consent).If you wish to transfer your place you need to contact In The Wet Stuff at least 14 days before original swim date and obtain their consent. An admin fee of £30 is payable.
In The Wet Stuff and its suppliers are not liable for any expenses including but not limited to travel, accommodation or refreshment, incurred due to the late cancellation or re scheduling of the swim. If the trip is cancelled without the offer of the fall back day the original ticket price will be refunded in full. We recommend you obtain appropriate travel/activity insurance.
All swims are subject to a minimum number cancellation policy, In The Wet Stuff can cancel a swim at short notice if insufficient numbers book to make the swim viable.
